Facultad de Química begun as the Chemistry Institute of the Medicine School back in 1908. Four years later, the Industrial Chemistry Institute is created by the Ministry of Industries. Both institutions merge in 1929 to consolidate the Chemistry and Pharmacy School of the Universidad de la República (UdelaR). Since 1959, it is called Facultad de Química.
Actually, the course will take place in an annex building called J.P. Saenz (see on Google Maps). This building is shared with the School of Medicine (UDELAR) and it is mostly the place where students gather to have a snack or lunch and for studying. At the 4th floor, where the 1st LACASSMC will develop, it also is where you will find the Bruker D8-Venture Single Crystal Diffractometer. Up next, we show you some pictures of the annex building.
During the the whole week of the course, there will be signs in the building with instructions to get to the classroom and other locations if necessary.
